Uncharted 5 Voice Actors: The Current Situation
Before diving into the cast, one fact matters most: Uncharted 5 voice actors have not been confirmed by anyone. Naughty Dog has not announced a fifth mainline Uncharted game, and its current announced project is Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Everything in this article is based on the established series cast, developer commentary, and widely reported industry rumors.
What we do know is the talent pool. The Uncharted franchise has been carried since 2007 by one of gaming's most celebrated voice and performance-capture ensembles, and any sequel — whether developed by Naughty Dog or another PlayStation Studios team — would almost certainly draw from that same roster.
| Character | Voice Actor | First Appearance | Uncharted 5 Return Outlook |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nathan Drake | Nolan North | Drake's Fortune (2007) | Cameo or mentor role at most |
| Elena Fisher | Emily Rose | Drake's Fortune (2007) | Possible cameo |
| Victor "Sully" Sullivan | Richard McGonagle | Drake's Fortune (2007) | Strong candidate as mentor |
| Chloe Frazer | Claudia Black | Among Thieves (2008) | Natural lead or co-star |
| Samuel Drake | Troy Baker | A Thief's End (2016) | Protagonist or wildcard |
| Nadine Ross | Laura Bailey | A Thief's End (2016) | Likely return with Chloe |
Any website claiming to list "confirmed Uncharted 5 voice actors" in 2026 is publishing speculation, not news. Treat casting rumors as unverified until Naughty Dog or Sony announces the project.
The Core Series Cast, Character by Character
Nathan Drake — Nolan North
Nolan North is the voice of the franchise. Across four mainline games, the PS Vita prequel Golden Abyss, and even a cameo in the 2022 film, North's performance defined Nathan Drake as one of PlayStation's most iconic characters. He has remained publicly enthusiastic about the role, and fans widely expect that if Uncharted 5 happens, Nathan would appear as a supporting figure guiding a younger adventurer — echoing the Sully relationship that anchored the original series.
Elena Fisher — Emily Rose
Emily Rose brought warmth and wit to journalist Elena Fisher across all four mainline entries. With Nathan and Elena's arc definitively closed in A Thief's End's epilogue, her return would likely be limited to a family scene — perhaps alongside a grown Cassie Drake.
Sully — Richard McGonagle
Richard McGonagle's cigar-chomping mentor is the franchise's connective tissue. If a new-generation Drake takes the lead, Sully is the most narratively natural bridge between eras — a role McGonagle could reprise with minimal story contortions.
Uncharted uses full performance capture, not voice-only recording. These actors contribute facial animation and body movement too, so recasting a character means recasting the entire performance — a major reason Naughty Dog tends to preserve its ensemble.
Chloe, Nadine, and Sam
The Lost Legacy proved the franchise works beyond Nathan Drake, with Claudia Black and Laura Bailey's chemistry earning widespread praise. Troy Baker's Samuel Drake ended A Thief's End with an open-ended fate, making him a plausible wildcard for a future entry.
| Actor | Other Notable Roles | Franchise Appearances |
|---|---|---|
| Nolan North | Desmond Miles (Assassin's Creed), Deadpool games | 6 games + 2022 film cameo |
| Troy Baker | Joel (The Last of Us), Sam (The Last of Us Part II villains aside) | 2 games |
| Laura Bailey | Abby (The Last of Us Part II), Catwoman | 2 games |
| Claudia Black | Aeryn Sun (Farscape), Morrigan (Dragon Age) | 4 games |
| Emily Rose | Haven (TV series) | 4 mainline games |
| Richard McGonagle | Vader's Father Figure roles aside; extensive animation work | 4 games |
Who Could Voice New Leads in Uncharted 5
The dominant fan theory centers on Cassie Drake, Nathan and Elena's daughter introduced in A Thief's End's epilogue. The ending deliberately shows Cassie discovering her parents' treasure-hunting past — a passing-of-the-torch moment many fans read as a sequel setup. Cassie has not yet been voiced by an established actor (her brief epilogue appearance used minimal dialogue), so casting her would be one of the biggest announcements surrounding the game.
Cassie Drake (New Lead)
- Most popular fan theory
- Fresh protagonist for a new era
- Casting would be a major reveal
- Enables Drake family cameos
Chloe & Nadine (Returning Duo)
- Proven headliners
- Strong chemistry from The Lost Legacy
- Ready-made adventurous dynamic
- No recasting needed
Sam Drake (Wildcard)
- Open-ended story fate
- Established rogue archetype
- Troy Baker's availability is a question mark given his Naughty Dog commitments
- Could anchor or disrupt a new plot
Multiple reports suggest Sony may assign a different PlayStation Studios team to develop the next Uncharted while Naughty Dog focuses on new IP. If that happens, returning voice actors would depend on the new studio's direction — though Sony has historically preserved original casts across franchise handoffs.
How to Track Official Casting News
Follow these steps to verify any Uncharted 5 voice actor news you encounter online:
Check Naughty Dog's Official Channels
Start with naughtydog.com and the studio's social accounts. Casting reveals for a project this size would be headline news there first.
Watch the Actors' Own Accounts
Nolan North, Troy Baker, and Laura Bailey are all active publicly and have historically discussed Uncharted openly. A genuine return would likely surface in their interviews or convention panels.
Cross-Reference Industry Outlets
Trust reports only when they appear across multiple major outlets such as IGN, GameSpot, or Eurogamer — and even then, remember that insider reports are not confirmations.
Ignore Fake Cast Lists
Any article listing a "full Uncharted 5 cast" with new character names is fan fiction until Naughty Dog announces the game itself.
The single strongest indicator of real casting movement would be a Naughty Dog or PlayStation Studios project announcement for a new Uncharted. Everything before that moment is speculation, however confident it sounds.

FAQ: Uncharted 5 Voice Actors
Q: Who are the confirmed Uncharted 5 voice actors?
None. Naughty Dog has not announced Uncharted 5, so no cast members are confirmed for it. All casting discussion — including Nolan North returning as Nathan Drake — remains rumor and fan speculation as of 2026.
Q: Will Nolan North voice Nathan Drake again?
Possibly, but likely not as the lead. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End concluded Nathan Drake's story, and circulating reports suggest that if Uncharted 5 happens, North's Drake would return as a mentor or cameo figure rather than the playable hero.
Q: Who could voice the new protagonist?
The most popular theory is Cassie Drake, Nathan and Elena's daughter from Uncharted 4's epilogue. She has no established voice actor yet, so casting her would be a fresh announcement. Alternatively, Claudia Black and Laura Bailey could return as Chloe and Nadine, who successfully headlined The Lost Legacy.
Q: Is Naughty Dog even making Uncharted 5?
Not that anyone has confirmed. Naughty Dog's announced project is Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and studio leadership has said the Uncharted universe could return someday but only with a story worth telling. Industry reports suggest another PlayStation Studios team might handle a future entry.
